Have you ever really, really wanted something…and then you say to God or the Universe or whoever you think is in control up there: “If this is meant to be, just give me a sign.”
And then you wait. And wait. Sometimes you get a hollaback. Sometimes you forget you asked. Sometimes it seems so much time has passed that you wonder if God is ignoring you.
But don’t hold it against Her…she’s just multi-tasking like the rest of us. She’ll get to it.
I’m all for turning over control to a higher power when a life situation is truly bigger than us, and out of our hands. But giving up power when the future hasn’t happened yet? That seems more like fear than faith.
Asking for a sign is like asking for permission to want something.
Maybe we should cut that out. Signs can be terribly misleading. (case in point, the photo above)
I asked for a sign a few months ago, and today I got my answer. And guess what? It was a resounding NO. Thanks to an entrepreneurial attitude problem, my knee-jerk response was disdain. How dare the universe say no?!
The best ideas are the ones that even after getting a negative sign, you decide to go for it anyway.
Besides, that’s what you wanted all along.
If you’ve been waiting for a sign, maybe this is it.
