Whitewater Rafting
Filed Under Peace & Happiness, Random | Leave a Comment
This weekend was the bachelorette party for my good friend and soon-to-be sister-in-law, Chris Giameo. She’s an outdoorsy chick, so we decided to go whitewater rafting at the Royal Gorge instead of strippers and penis straws. It was a blast. There’s really nothing more refreshing and exciting than being in nature, and getting your ass kicked by it! I’ve live in Colorado for over a year now, but everytime I do something like this, I still have to convince myself it’s not a Disney ride…it’s mama nature in full effect. If you’ve never gone rafting before, you gotta try it.

Bolder Boulder 10k
Filed Under Random | 2 Comments

Happy Memorial Day! First I’d just like to say a huge THANK YOU to our troops, serving currently and those who have served before. A prayer goes out to those who have lost their lives in the line of duty, and also for all the people who loved them. Also a big HOLLA to my little brother Andrew and his fellow troops in Iraq today. I couldn’t think of a better way to reflect on all our troops have done for us than doing something big…a personal first. So today I ran my first ever 10k race – the Bolder Boulder. For those of you who don’t speak in kilometers, that comes to 6.2 miles…and I felt all 6.2 of them! (I think I need some serious arch supports…) I ran with one of my fave girlfriends of all time, Lisa Poole. (We met in college, and oddly enough moved to the same town in Colorado without realizing it.) The Bolder Boulder 10k is an annual event that draws 50,000 runners. It’s a seriously competitive race, but also tons of fun. Along the way, there were bands, people partying on their front lawns and little kids running around with bubbles and signs around their necks that said, “You can do this!” It was a really inspirational day, as tired as my wobbly legs feel right now…I can’t believe Lisa and I ran the entire thing! The only downer about today was the craptastic weather. There was a whole lot of rain, and my staff manning our booth at the festival got quite soggy and we had to shut down early today. But it’s all good…GFB loves Boulder.
